I, Laura, do so solemnly swear to only post random thoughts once a week. There. Now you can hold me to it :)
Random Thought #6:Sephora. You will be the death of me. Well, my bank account anyway. Ok, Ok I KNOW that spending $75 a month on eye cream/makeup/perfume/beauty goodness is a crime. But seriously. Seriously. Could not love it more.
This store is my version of street drugs....If I were Courtney Love.
And this one cracks me up. PRESS ON EYE SHADOW?? What is this, The Jetsons??
Random Thought #7: I'm never going to be this good at knitting. Bitter Purl, you are awesome. And all you other blogger/knitters. You are amazing and you feed my inferiority complex it's Wheaties everyday...which is a weird thing to say and I swear it's not a back-handed compliment. Just please keep doing what you're doing and I will continue to gawk at my computer screen.
Random Thought #8:Doing what you love VS. Loving what you do.
This may be a strange discussion...but just bear with me. I love what I do: Music Therapy. It's an awesome job, I get to sing and make people (kids) smile. However, the whole JOB aspect gets tough. Whenever you make something your JOB, your form of income, you add a whole other dimension to it. Sometimes I believe you can actually pervert it a little bit. Not in a horrible way always, but you can take away from it.
Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Please say I'm not the only one that has this psychological debate with myself... I want to know what you think.
PS: That's not me in the photo. Just a generic MT pic.
Random Thought #8: Liberty of London Fabrics. Are you SERIOUS??? $35/yard for FABRIC???? I mean...I love to sew (new found obsession) but that is just plain ridiculous.
Considering this is supposed to be a knitting blog (wow...you'd never know) I thought I'd share some great advice I got from my life-saver AKA KNITTING DAILY.
If you are a knitter--even casually--I HIGHLY recommend getting a subscription to this website. It is completely FREE (for real, they don't even send you a million annoying emails) and it has a wealth of info.
For example, remember when I showed you a horrible picture of my boyfriend's sweater I'm knitting? Well, I found a wonderful tutorial on blocking here which I plan on putting to good use as soon as that baby's done. Only one more sleeve left!!! With my speed it will be done by next summer :/ eesh.
Another recommendation? Elann. Heard of it? Well, if you want super super cheap yarn and great customer service ORDER FROM THEM. Seriously. Just do it. They are GREAT! They expedite your orders so you get your yarn super fast and can add another project to your list of projects that has been piling up since, well, 1994.
